At first, I started cooking simply because I had to. After I moved out of my parents’ house, it suddenly dawned on me that I had to feed myself (and my boyfriend) healthy meals. College wasn’t an excuse anymore. No more grilled cheese sandwiches or eggs on toast as meals for five days out of the week.

I didn’t want it to be a chore, though. I wanted to enjoy cooking and more importantly, I wanted it to taste good. So I started browsing around for recipes. One night at the library, I came across four aisles of cookbooks and knew I hit the jackpot. You’ll see that most of my recipes come out of popular cookbooks, and that’s because I take out about three to five every week and copy the ones that catch my eye.
After trying out a few simple recipes and discovering that I could in fact yield a tasty product, I started enjoying cooking, and now I look forward to coming home after work and cooking up an old recipe, or trying a new one–my taste buds eager to see what the turnout will be. After all, why should you put all that work into cooking something and not enjoy the process?
I have yet to hone in on the “create your own masterpiece from scratch” recipe skills that a lot of people have, but I always credit my sources. If the recipe isn’t mine, I’m not going to claim it as something I created.
So please stop by whenever you’re on a whim to cook! You’ll see that most of my recipes are healthy, easy, fast, and affordable–qualities I think most people search for.
Happy Cooking
